Valuable advice from a successful KPMG Senior Audit Accountant
In February, our Navitas Professional Careers & Internships students had the opportunity to meet and learn from Senior Audit Accountant, Lauren De Koning, of KPMG.
Lauren De Koning survived the notorious challenge of making it through one of Australia’s ‘Big 4’ consulting firms’ graduate recruitment process. She was selected as one of the top 25 KPMG graduate auditors from 1,700 applicants! During the free networking workshop, 40 recent graduates had the opportunity to apply their new networking skills, and receive real life advice from a successful professional.
Lauren shared her personal experience, providing insight into ‘a day in the life of an accountant’, and working with clients across a range of industries: ASX listed companies, charities and global brands. She talked through her day-to-day approach to work and how to reach both company and personal development goals.
Attendees benefited from Lauren’s insights on how to build workplace relationships, workplace ethics and communicating effectively with key stakeholders. Lauren also gave away plenty of useful tips on how to be successful in a highly competitive graduate recruitment scenario.
Thank you Lauren, for coming by and generously giving your time to our aspiring candidates!
